Getting Started
What is Callio?
Callio is an AI-powered phone assistant that makes calls on your behalf. Simply search for a business, tell us what you need, and our AI will call and handle the conversation for you. You'll receive a summary and transcript when the call is complete.

What can Callio call about?
Callio can help with:
- Making reservations (restaurants, hotels)
- Booking appointments (salons, doctors, auto shops)
- Checking business hours and availability
- Asking about prices, services, or stock
- Asking general questions (policies, parking, accessibility, etc.)
Calls & Results
How long do calls take?
Most calls complete within 1-3 minutes. Complex reservations or inquiries may take longer. You can continue using your phone or close the app while the call is in progress - we'll notify you when it's done.
What if the business doesn't answer?
If no one answers, you'll be notified and you can try again later. Calls that don't connect don't count toward your usage.
Can I listen to the call?
For privacy and legal reasons, you cannot listen to calls in real-time. However, you'll receive a complete transcript and summary after each call so you can see exactly what was discussed.
What if the call doesn't go as planned?
Sometimes businesses may decline requests or need additional information. You'll be notified of the outcome and can modify your request or try again. Technical failures and non-successful calls don't count toward your usage.
What phone number does Callio call from?
Callio calls from a dedicated phone number that identifies us as an AI assistant service. The business will see this number on their caller ID, not your personal phone number. For reservations, bookings, and other actions, our AI introduces itself so businesses know they're speaking with an automated assistant calling on your behalf.
Subscription & Billing
What does the free plan include?
The free plan includes 3 free calls when you sign up — a one-time grant, with no monthly reset. Only successful or completed calls count toward your quota — non-successful calls (no-answer, technical issues) don't take from your quota.
What does Premium include?
Premium gives you unlimited calls for $4.99/month (first month) then $9.99/month. You also get priority support and all current and future premium features. Cancel anytime with no commitment.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from Settings > Subscription. If you subscribed via iOS, manage your subscription in the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad. For Android and Web subscriptions, use Settings > Subscription inside the app. You'll keep Premium access until your current period ends.
Privacy & Security
Is my data safe?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. When the AI assistant calls a business on your behalf, only the information needed to complete your request is shared – typically your name and the details of your request, plus a callback number for bookings or appointments. Information you do not provide is never sent.
What data do you collect?
We collect: your account info (name, email, phone), call transcripts and summaries, subscription status, and device tokens for notifications. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can export all your data anytime from Settings > Data Management. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data from the same section. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Prohibited Uses
What can't Callio call about?
Callio cannot be used for:
- Emergency services (911, crisis hotlines)
- Financial transactions (banking, payments)
- Medical information beyond scheduling
- Legal matters
- Government ID information
- Harassment or illegal activities
Attempting prohibited uses may result in account termination.
Why these restrictions?
These restrictions protect you and others. Emergency calls need human judgment and immediate response. Financial and medical information requires verified identity. We're designed for convenience calls, not sensitive or urgent matters.
